I saw this on the evening news. I thought this was interesting because part of the lawsuit involved the use of a camera obtained outside the state:
Rotella said the jury must focus on whether the prosecution had proved that a child was depicted in the videos, that there was sexually explicit conduct, that the defendant participated in the manufacturing of the child pornography, and that the images were produced using materials in violation of laws governing interstate and foreign commerce.

Hopefully, the jury will be able to see their way to an appropriate verdict.
I used to believe in the criminal justice system. However, having been intimately involved in a criminal case that went sadly wrong, I have become very cynical about the criminal justice system and the jury trial structure.
I can't believe that the lawyer actually went as far as to say that his client isn't guilty because the prosecution can't prove that he violated interstate and foreign commerce laws. I didn't quite understand that whole section when I was reading it.
I agree with Kim Kline, the jury is so tainted in various cases that it really will hurt the case. I was also involved in serving on a jury for a murder trial for 10 days. You can see the justice system in a different light. No matter what you may personally think about the case, you must also come to terms with the rest of the folks serving on the jury. What I personally think of this case is that they should suffer and rot in jail for the rest of their lives, which wouldn't be long, once the prisoners found out why they were there.
