Gun Laws in DC
It is nice that the Congress is realizing new laws need to be implemented to control the violence. At the same time I am concerned about how much control they really will have over gun ownership and a citizen's right to own a gun if they choose. It will be interesting to see how other area's of the country react to this.

It is nice to see that congress in soncerned about gun violence. The only problem is they are makent it harder for law abiding citizens to attain firearms, not criminals. I own multiple firearms and have my license to carry. I have been around guns my whole life and I think it is great that they want to increase safety restrictions on how guns are kept in the home and who can carry them. I just think they should have harsher laws for criminals who use guns to commit crimes and people who have illegal firearms or unregistered firearms, instead of people who use them for sport or to protect themselves and their homes.
I agree with you 100%. I too am a gun owner and believe that the right to protect yourself and your family should be guaranteed. However I am and always have been infavor of tougher gun legislation to keep guns out of the hands of criminals. I do however think that some cities, Philadelphia being one of them, are trying every available option to keep illegal guns off the streets.
I do not have a problem with congress wanting to increase safety restrictions on how guns are kept in the home and who can carry them either. I have two small children and know that this may become a concern when they are at someone else's house. But they do need to work on harsher laws for criminals and those who may supply them with the gun.
